
GadflyFiction attempts to develop a discussion around fiction, its purpose, its methods, and its effects.
We take the name form the story of Socrates, as related by Plato in the Apology. Socrates identifies himself as a gadfly to the people of Athens, biting and stinging their minds and consciences causing them to truly question their understanding of life. Such is our purpose, to cause people to question their own thoughts on a variety of aspects of fiction, particularly fantasy and science-fiction

DPJ Miles is a graduate of the University of Waterloo where he received his degrees in Classical Studies and Medieval Studies. He is a current MA student at the University of Waterloo in the Classical Studies program where he studies ancient graeco-egyptian alchemy and ancient philosophy. He is holds a Certificate of Blacksmithing from the Haliburton School of the Arts.

Baxter Aloicious Wrigglesworth is a pug Boston terrier cross of exceptional charm, cunning and voracity. Known for his love of emulating hobbits, he enjoys eating, snacking and sleeping in any available sunbeam or warm lap.
